Stigma Free Morris: Walk in Celebration of National Substance Use Recovery Month

Walk a Friendly 2.2-Mile Course on Sept. 28 to Raise Awarenss

Join Freedom House on Saturday, September 28 for the 4th Annual Morris County Recovery Walk in Morristown.

 Freedom House logoThe 2.2-mile walk will kick off and finish at George Gramby Memorial Park on Abbett Avenue in Morristown. The event is intended to bring people of all ages together from throughout Morris County.

National Recovery Month events, such as this one, raise awareness of substance use and co-occurring disorders as they celebrate recovery.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Freedom House, which is dedicated to the education, referral and recovery of those in our community who have been impacted by substance use and co-occurring disorders. This event is an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with this disease.

The Morris County Stigma-Free Communities Initiative is a county-wide program which aims to eradicate the stigma associated with mental illness and substance use disorders. We are dedicated to raising awareness of these illnesses by creating an environment where affected individuals are supported in their efforts to achieve wellness and recovery.
