Stigma Free Morris: Mental Health Program in Rockaway Township

Rockaway Township will present a special program, "Let's Talk About Mental Health,'' on Tuesday evening, Oct. 29, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rockaway Township Public Library.

The program will feature Tracy Klingener, who is the Assistant Director of Self Help, Advocacy and Education for the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris Counties. The session is open to all county residents.

Topics will include:

  • What is Mental Health;
  • What is Mental Illness;
  • What are Mental Health Indicators;
  • What are the Burdens of Mental Illness;
  • Coping Strategies;
  • How Can We Help Others;
  • When to Seek Professional Help.

Rockaway Township is a member of the Morris County Stigma-Free Communities Initiative, which is a county-wide program which aims to eradicate the stigma associated with mental illness and substance use disorders.

The members are dedicated to raising awareness of these illnesses by creating an environment where affected individuals are supported in their efforts to achieve wellness and recovery.
