(JPG, 17KB)Last night's bus accident yielded an impressive response from multi-agency emergency medical response teams including the New Jersey State Police, Parsippany Police Department, Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance, Rockaway Neck Volunteer EMS, Par-Troy EMS, Morris County Office of Emergency Management, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical teams from Atlantic Health System and Saint Clare's Health, Parsippany Fire District 6, Parsippany Rescue & Recovery and other area first response agencies.
The Morris County Communications Center managed the overall communications for the EMS, fire, and hospital-based BLS/ALS units, and they did an impressive job. Everyone worked together with one common mission and one goal: to take care of the injured and transport them to the hospital. It was a great team effort!
Four seriously injured patients were immediately transported to Morristown Medical Center's Level 1 Trauma Center by ambulance. Seventeen patients were assessed, treated and transported to the Morristown Medical Center aboard the Morris County Office of Emergency Management's Mobile Ambulance Bus (MAB), which has the capability to transport over 20 patients at a time. Five patients were transported to Saint Clare's hospitals via ambulance and 10 patients were transported from Route 80 to the Parsippany District 5 Fire House where they were further evaluated.
The Morris County Office of Emergency Management is extremely grateful to all of the first responders and our hospital partners who made a difference in the lives of others. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
