A survey commissioned by the Hanover Township Economic Development Advisory Committee is underway with the help of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University to gain a better understanding of how the Morris County township can improve the experiences of visitors and residents traveling, shopping and enjoying facilities in the community.
The survey may be accessed here.
The goal is to enhance the enjoyment and success of visitors and residents venturing into the township, and to assist the township in enhancing attractions and infrastructure, from its streets and parks to creating interesting events, such as farmers markets, public art, festivals, walking and hiking trails and everything else that brings people together. What the Bloustein School calls the "Hanover Township Placemaking Survey" is being conducted by students of urban planning enrolled in the Spring 2021 Graduate Planning Seminar on Placemaking.
They are in a working partnership with the Hanover Township Economic Development Advisory Committee to draft placemaking strategies and programs, and they need the opinions, perspectives and ideas of people who live, work, shop, or commute into the municipality. The survey is divided into sections, the first of which makes general inquiries about the individuals surveyed and life in Hanover Township. The remaining sections focus on specific areas within Hanover Township where the township and urban planning students are focusing their placemaking strategies.
