Morristown National Historical Park Closures Due to Recent Storms

Published on March 09, 2018

National Park Service logoMorristown National Historical Park has been impacted by two storms within a week span. Tremendous damage from downed trees, loss of power, dangling power lines, and two feet of snow have made conditions unsafe for the public in certain areas.

The following areas are CLOSED until further notice:

  • Jockey Hollow (Visitor Center, trails, tour road)
  • Fort Nonsense
  • New Jersey Brigade/Cross Estate

The Washington's Headquarters Museum and Ford Mansion are open and operating under the regular schedule (9:30 am- 5 pm, Wednesday - Sunday).

Park staff members are working to re-open areas as quickly as possible. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 is the target date to have all park areas open to the public. We will re-assess on Tuesday and extend closures if needed.

Updates will be posted on the park website at www.nps.gov/morr as well as social media sites.

For more information call the museum, Wednesday through Sunday, at 973-539-2016 x 210.
