Morris Township Turkey Trot Benefits Food Pantry, Literacy Volunteers

Registration is Open for 13th Annual Turkey Trot in Morris Township

The Interfaith Food Pantry and Literacy Volunteers of Morris County announce that the 13th annual Morris Township Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot will be held on Thursday, Nov. 28.

Registration is now open for this fundraising event which will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the Ginty Field complex in Morris Township. The USATF-certified 5k, 1-Mile Fun Run and Kids' Trot has become a Thanksgiving tradition for people of all ages and abilities.

In 2018, the Turkey Trot drew more than 3,000 registrants. On-site registration for the rain-or-shine race opens at 7 a.m., however participants are encouraged to avoid the lines and register in advance at morristownshipturkeytrot.org.

Proceeds from the Trot are shared between the Food Pantry and Literacy Volunteers.

The Pantry serves more than 1,300 families per month, providing food, nutrition education, counseling and referral services. Literacy Volunteers offers free one-on-one and small group tutoring in basic English and ESL to more than 500 Morris County adults.
