Morris Stigma Free: Coalition Battles Substance Abuse with Education

New Website Announced at Jets HQ in Florham Park

The NJ Coalition 4 Education and Positive Choices, a nonprofit group that combats substance abuse through education and guidance, has launched a new website as a potential source of information and help for those dealing with substance abuse.

The website, http://www.njc4epc.com/, offers resources for parents, students, teachers, and partners on various forms of substance abuse, from opioids and marijuana, to alcohol and vaping.

The new website kickoff occurred on Dec. 3 at the New York Jets training facility in Florham Park. Morris County Freeholder Heather Darling and municipal and school officials from Hanover, East Hanover, Florham Park, Morristown, and Morris Township attended the event.

Our coalition has worked to create a comprehensive source of statistics, cutting edge information on emerging trends in substance abuse, and links to agencies and organizations that can help families struggling with addiction, said Hanover Township Committeeman Thomas Ace Gallagher, founder of the organization.

Morris Township Police Lt. Lieutenant Heather Glogolich said the new website is a tool that can be used to towns and school districts to see what other communities are doing to fight substance abuse and to share those efforts with each other.

Gallagher and Florham Park Mayor Mark Taylor noted the efforts of coalition members in creating the website, particularly thanking Hanover Police Chief Mark Roddy, East Hanover Police Chief Christopher Cannizzo, Florham Park Police Chief Joe Orlando, and Morris Township Police Lieutenant Heather Glogolich.

They also praised the contributions of Hanover Township School Superintendent Mike Wasko, East Hanover School Superintendent Natalee Bartlett, Florham Park School Superintendent Steve Caponegro, and Hanover Park Regional School Superintendent Maria Carrell.

The Coalition is a non-profit group comprised of educators, law enforcement, municipal and school officials, and community volunteers from Morris County and neighboring counties dedicated to combating substance abuse in all its forms through education and guidance.
