Morris ProsecutorAnnounces New County Critical Infrastructure Coordinator

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Chief of Investigations Stephen F. Wilson, Jr. announce the hiring of Patrick Owens as the Morris County Critical Infrastructure Coordinator. He will be assigned to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Intelligence/Homeland Security Unit within the Special Operations Division.

As Critical Infrastructure Coordinator, Owens will conduct security assessments of facilities throughout Morris County, including churches, synagogues, other religious facilities, schools, hospitals, and other public buildings that make up the infrastructure of the county.

The goal of the security assessments is to ensure that all facilities throughout Morris County are as safe and secure as possible from all potential threats.

Patrick Owens' long and accomplished career in law enforcement has made him the perfect candidate to fulfill the duties of such an important position in our office,'' said Prosecutor Knapp. "The Morris County Prosecutor's Office is excited to have him join us.''

Owens has been a member of law enforcement for the past 35 years. He began his career as a patrol officer with the South Brunswick Police Department and was promoted through the ranks to the position of captain. Following his time with the South Brunswick Police Department, Patrick worked with the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office as the Risk Mitigation Planner.

For the last four years, he has served as the State Critical Infrastructure Coordinator for the State of New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.
