Morris Prosecutor: Two Parsippany Men Arrested in Connection with Homicide

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker, and Parsippany Police Chief Andrew Miller announce the arrests of Rogelio Laureano-Gonzalez and Cirilo Rojas-Paulino, both 25 and from Parsippany, in connection with a 2019 homicide in that township.
On Sept. 9, 2019, law enforcement received information regarding a deceased male found inside a home in the area of Old Bloomfield Road in Parsippany. Investigation confirmed that a body was located inside a residence in the area and identified as Jaime Lopez-Basilio. The manner of death was determined to be homicide.
Two residents living in that house, Laureano-Gonzalez and Rojas-Paulino, could not immediately be located during the investigation. Both men eventually were apprehended in California.
It is alleged that Laureano-Gonzalez struck Lopez-Basilio in the head causing the death. It is further alleged that Laureano-Gonzalez and Rojas-Paulino fled New Jersey following the event to avoid investigation, apprehension, or prosecution.
Laureano-Gonzalez has been charged with second degree Manslaughter, as well as Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution in connection to the incident. Rojas-Paulino has been charged separately, by way of indictment, with Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution and Obstructing Administration of Law in connection with the incident. Both men remains detained in custody.
