Morris Prosecutor: Randolph Man Arrested on Weapons Charges

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Randolph Police Chief David Stokoe announce the arrest of Lawrence W. Ball, 60, of Randolph, on numerous weapons related charges.

(JPG, 8KB)Randolph Police initially made contact with Ball due to a report of him making obscene gestures towards others. Police, in conjunction with the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Homeland Security Unit, subsequently initiated a suspicious person investigation which led to a search of the defendant's home.
Numerous prohibited weapons were located at Mr. Ball's home. Specifically, law enforcement officers seized 5 air/pellet guns, 51 daggers, 33 sling shots, and 11 metal knuckles.
The defendant was charged on Monday, Feb. 26, with the following offenses:
- Five counts of second-degree weapons possession --Air Gun/BB Gun;
- Three counts of fourth-degree weapons possession -- 51 daggers, 33 sling shots, 11 metal knuckles;
- Three counts of fourth-degree possession of prohibited weapons and devices.
The defendant is lodged at the Morris County Correctional Facility.
