Morris Prosecutor: Narcotics Task Force Makes Drugs and Weapons Arrests

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announces the arrest of three young men, from Dover, Wharton, and East Orange, stemming from an investigation into the illegal distribution of narcotics and firearms.

The trio were arrested following an investigation that culminated on Thursday (March 1) when several court-authorized warrants were executed.

The result was the seizure of two handguns, 35 rounds of ammunition, more than a half-ounce of cocaine, more than six pounds of marijuana, plus drug distribution related paraphernalia and the profits of criminal activity in excess of $14,000.

The following individuals were arrested as a result of this investigation: Naeem White, 20, of Wharton; Christian Mojica, 20, from Dover; and Darry Riggs, 21, of East Orange.

A joint investigation was conducted by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Special Enforcement Unit/Narcotics Task Force and, the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force, the Mt. Olive Police Department, the Dover Police Department, the Byram Police Department, the New Jersey State Police and the Morris County Sheriff's Office.

This investigation, coordinated by our Narcotics Task Force, resulted in the arrests of individuals responsible for distributing illegal firearms and drugs in our communities,'' said Prosecutor Knapp. "The success of this investigation would not have been possible without the commitment of the law enforcement agencies who worked cooperatively with the Narcotics Task Force.

White and Mojica were charged with numerous weapons and drug charges. They were lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a first appearance and pre-trial detention hearing.

Riggs was charged with drug possession and a disorderly persons charge. He was charged on a summons complaint.
