Morris Prosecutor: Mt. Arlington Police Officer Struck by Motor Vehicle

On Tuesday (Dec. 11), at about 6:51 p.m, Sgt. James DiStasio of the Borough of Mount Arlington Police Department was struck by a motor vehicle in the vicinity of 10 Howard Blvd.(JPG, 191KB)

The incident involved a single motor vehicle and remains under investigation.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Sgt. DiStasio was involved in the routine investigation of an unrelated traffic incident at the time he was struck by the motor vehicle. Sgt. DiStasio was transported to Morristown Medical Center.

No additional information will be released at this time, including the identity of any other persons involved and the extent of any injuries sustained by Sgt. DiStasio, as the investigation remains ongoing.

This matter is being investigated by the Mount Arlington Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff's Office €“ Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office €“ Major Crimes Unit.
