Kids: Gear Up and Give it a Try €” for Free

Children ages 4-9 are invited to a Try Hockey For Free clinic at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 at Mennen Sports Arena. Youngsters are invited to experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basic skills in a fun and safe environment.

The event is being sponsored by the Morris County Park Commission's Mennen Sports Arena, the New Jersey Colonials travel hockey club, and the Morris County Youth Hockey League during Hockey Week Across America.

USA Hockey's Try Hockey program, with the support of the National Hockey League and NHL member clubs, is designed to provide youth hockey associations with a national platform to introduce children to the sport, free of charge. USA Hockey has 350 locations offering this unique opportunity to kids nationwide.

The William G. Mennen Sports Arena, located in East Hanover Avenue in Morris Township, was built in 1973 on land donated by the Mennen Company. It has three ice surfaces used for daily public skating, ice hockey, speed and figure skating, plus it hosts a wide variety of non-skating events during the year.
