The Morris County Board of Freeholders and Morris County Sheriff's Office held a special Memorial Day wreath laying ceremony yesterday, featuring proper social distancing, to honor all military veterans who have served our nation and helped preserve our freedoms.

The wreath laying event was held on the lawn of the Morris County Courthouse in Morristown, where an honor guard from the Morris County Sheriff's Office joined Freeholder John Krickus --a Marine veteran, Sheriff James M. Gannon, and bugler Mike DelVecchio in honoring our veterans.
The smaller gathering on Monday morning replaced the veterans' medal ceremony usually held each year on Memorial Day week by the Freeholder Board. To protect the health of residents and veterans due to the current virus pandemic, that gathering was cancelled this year, with expectations of a strong return in 2021.
We say thank you to all of our veterans for your service!(JPG, 145KB)(JPG, 250KB)(JPG, 236KB)
