Morris County Weather Advisory -- Strong T-Storms Expected

The Morris County Office of Emergency Management reports that a line of strong thunderstorms is expected to affect Morris County, and neighboring Hunterdon, Sussex, Warren and Somerset counties over the next few hours.(JPG, 3KB)

As of about 1 p.m., radar indicated that strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Newton to Pleasant Valley. The movement was east at 75 mph.

Wind gusts of up to 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with these storms.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Secure objects outside of your residences.

Locations impacted are likely to include Morristown, Somerville, Newton, Bridgewater, Dover, Madison, Hopatcong, Florham Park, East Hanover, Lincoln Park, Kinnelon, Hackettstown, Chatham, and Boonton.

This includes the following highways:
Interstate 287 between mile markers 9 and 54.
Interstate 78 between mile markers 0 and 41.
Interstate 80 between mile markers 11 and 48.
