Over the past two years, CCM has worked very closely with Vocational School District to create a shared high school program in Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing.

CCM, and specifically Dean Enright, were key in figuring out the course sequence for students, scheduling the courses, facilitating an orientation program, finding professors for the program and organizing open houses to promote the program.

Students in the Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing Program particularly benefited from a partnership with NASA. Key players in that arrangement were Enright and CCM's Eric Pederson, who were instrumental in securing the agreement for the students' participation in NASA HUNCH (High Schools United with NASA to Create Hardware).

Morris County School of Technology shared-time students who participated in the Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing program at CCM worked on parts for a stowage locker that was sent to the International Space Station aboard SpaceX-10. They were tasked with fabricating metal sleeves and nuts for the stowage locker which will provide a safe and secure housing for hardware required for plant studies.

Dean Enright continues to work closely with Shari Castelli, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction at MCVSD, on the joint engineering and manufacturing curriculum.

The Morris County Vocational School District offers programs for Morris County high school students, including Career Academies, Share Time Programs and Continuing Education programs. For additional information, call the Morris County School of Technology at (973) 627-4600 ext.277.
