The contractor could begin initial work on the expected month-long project, running from Sussex Turnpike in Randolph to 182 North Road in Chester Township, possible starting next Monday, June 17.

Also, bids have been awarded and work will start shortly on The Boulevard in Pequannock and later this month and in July on North Main Street and East and West Dewey Avenue in Wharton.

In addition, paving crews continue to work on a 1.7-mile stretch of Comly Road/Ryerson Road in Lincoln Park and Pequannock, and milling work is moving along at night-- as requested by the township -- on Littleton Road in Parsippany.

These are two of several projects underway as part of Morris County's 2019 countywide road resurfacing effort that has targeted some 30 miles of the county's vital road network for improvements this year.

Milling and paving is underway on South Morris Street in Dover and striping should be completed shortly on South Street in Morris Township; and milling work continues on a 1.7-mile section of Littleton Road in Parsippany, from Route 10 to the Parsippany Road area.

Road closures and detours will be signed and coordinated with the local police. Work hours are coordinated with each municipality. Motorists should expect delays. Bicyclists are urged to seek alternate routes.

It is vital our residents and business community to maintain the high quality of county road in Morris County,'' said Freeholder Stephen Shaw. We are working closely with the affected towns and their police to handle traffic flow and potential detours, and ask residents who are inconvenienced to be patient as we get this work done for you.''
