National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a semi-annual event coordinated nationally by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), in which law enforcement agencies at the state, county, and municipal levels work together to encourage the public to anonymously dispose of unused, unwanted or expired prescription medications.

Gannon, Hanover Township Police Chief Michael Loock, Morris Plains Police Chief Mike Koroski, Morris Township Police Chief Robert Shearer, and Randolph Township Police Chief Will Harzula announced that their agencies will partner in this effort to reduce the abuse and misuse of pharmaceutical drugs.
