Morris County History: Morristown National Historical Park Hosts Renowned Author

Todd Braisted, April 8 at Washington's Headquarters Museum

Morristown National Historical Park is pleased to welcome author and loyalist scholar Todd Braisted. He will discuss his most recent book, Grand Forage 1778, about the little-known autumn military campaign of 1778.

The presentation begins at 1 pm in the auditorium at Washington's Headquarters Museum, 30 Washington Place, Morristown, New Jersey. Admission is free.

British General Henry Clinton led his full army into the field one last time, gathering supplies, striking at General Washington's advanced posts, and perhaps hoping for one last assault at the Continental Army itself.

Mr. Braisted's presentation will examine the events surrounding this chaotic yet little-studied period of the American Revolution.

Todd Braisted is a past president of the Bergen County Historical Society, an honorary vice-president of the United Empire Loyalist Association of Canada, and a fellow in the Company of Military Historians.

He has authored numerous books and articles on the Revolution, and appeared as a guest historian on PBS's History Detectives and CBC's Who Do You Think You Are?

Following his talk, Mr. Braisted will be available to sign books. Grand Forage 1778 and some of his other books will be available in the museum store.
