For more than three decades, Learned T. Dag Bulman made Acorn Hall, Morris County Historical Society headquarters in Morristown, his home away from home.

On Saturday, Jan. 4, Bulman died at his Hackettstown home at the age of 96.
A native of Norwich, CT., Bulman was a retired librarian, who brought his archivist talents to MCHS in the late 1980s. There, he was feted by folks whom could be considered a second family and were dedicated to a common mission, the preservation and promotion of the history of Morris County.
In addition to his contributions as an Emeritus member of the MCHS Board of Directors, volunteer archivist, librarian, board treasurer, and benefactor, MCHS Executive Director Amy Curry referred to him as a treasured friend during a celebration of his 95th birthday in 2018.
In recognition of his dedication, MCHS named its Research Library and Archives in his honor.
We are eternally grateful to Dag for all his efforts on behalf of and lasting friendship to MCHS, Curry said at the 2018 birthday celebration. Dag's generosity and his incredibly sage advice have afforded MCHS the ability to actively add to our historic collections and continue our stewardship and restoration of Acorn Hall.
