Morris County EDC: Dec. 10 Forum Focuses on Life Sciences Industry in N.J.

Program Features Keynote by John Crowley, Chairman and CEO of Amicus Therapeutics
The Morris County Economic Development Corporation will present a special forum, New Jersey: The Life Sciences Commercialization Hub, on Monday, Dec. 10, to be held at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park. The event will focus on the dynamic environment for the expansion of the life sciences industry within New Jersey.

The event will include a panel discussion moderated by Dean J. Paranicas, president and chief executive officer of the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey. HINJ serves as the voice for the research-based biopharmaceutical and medical technology industry in New Jersey.
Kathleen Coviello, vice president of Technology and Life Science of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, will contribute to the panel by offering insights regarding the state incentive program for the life sciences industry.
Other panelists include Christine Mikail, President/Co-Founder of Neumentum; Deborah Penza Collins, Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of Melinta Therapeutics; Scott Miller, Executive Director Global Compliance, Syneos Health; State Senator Steve Oroho and State Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips.

The event will be capped off with a luncheon keynote address by John Crowley, chairman & CEO of Cranbury-based Amicus Therapeutics (Nasdaq: FOLD), a global, patient-centric biotechnology company focused on developing and delivering high-quality medicines for people living with rare metabolic diseases.
We created our Life Science forum to acknowledge the pivotal role the industry has in our state's overall economic sustainability, and in particular within the greater Morris County area, said Meghan Hunscher, Executive Director of the Morris County Economic Development Corporation.
Morris County has long been a global capital for biotech and medical research and development. Through the years, we have increasingly seen innovations across the life sciences spectrum borne of New Jersey corporations, many of which choose Morris County as their global headquarters, added Hunscher.
The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with lunch included. Tickets are $65 for members of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce or Morris County Economic Development Corporation; non-member tickets cost $85.
