FAMILY FRIENDLY SUMMER EVENT OFFERS CLASSIC CARS, MUSIC, GAMES, RIDES, FOOD, FIREWORKS, AND GREAT KIDS AND THEIR ANIMALS
The annual Morris County 4-H Fair kicks into gear at Chubb Park in Chester Township this year from July 18-21, featuring a host of arts, crafts, hands-on activities, live displays, music, rides, food, fireworks, and the great 4-H kids and their animals.
The fair will be open on Thursday, 4-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daily schedules and fairground maps will be are available at the Information Booth at the fair.
"The 4-H Fair is a showcase and celebration of the achievements of youth from around the county. It is a great opportunity for everyone to come out for wholesome family fun, said Kelly Dziak, Morris County 4-H Program Associate.
"We encourage all Morris County residents to come out to the great annual event, to have some summer fun, and to see the results of the hard work by our great 4-H kids and the folks who help them put on this wonderful fair,'' said Morris County Freeholder Director Doug Cabana.

There is no admission fee for the fair, but a parking donation of $5 per vehicle is requested. On Friday evening, in preparation for the fireworks, parking will be $10, which includes 3-D fireworks glasses.
A special $15 pay-one-price for all kiddie rides is scheduled on Friday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a $30 pay-one-price for all amusement rides will be offered on Thursday, July 18, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday, July 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dogs may be brought to the fair, but they must be on a 6-foot leash. Retractable leashes are not allowed in the park.

The Exhibit Tent will be packed with arts and crafts entries, informational displays, and hands-on activities for visitors. Meet your county and local government officials on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Entertainment Tent and Dining Tent will feature live musical performances and interactive demonstrations. Other tents will house animals ( belonging to fair entrants), including dogs, horses, goats, poultry, rabbits, and other small animals.
Non-profit organizations will be in the Food Tent selling items ranging from tasty snacks to full meals.
A wide variety of fun activities are lined up: Pony and hay rides, goat races, watermelon eating and cake decorating contests, Dress-a-Pet and Dress-a-Cage contests, sled-dog demonstrations, cow pie bingo, amusement rides.
Fairgoers can enjoy a ride in a tethered hot air balloon on Saturday from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. for $10 (weather permitting). Children and adults of all ages can try their skills at archery at the archery booth.
The Fair is sponsored by the Morris County 4-H Association in support of the 4-H Youth Development Program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. 4-H members, volunteer Fair managers, 4-H club leaders and parents work together to make this major event possible.
