4-H Youths Record Videos on Favorite Topic -- Learn Presentation Skills

Students in Morris County's 4-H program learned how to give public presentations on camera this year, as they competed in the annual 4-H Public Presentation Event in a virtual format due to COVID-19.

Sophia Kissling, Gwendolyn Wacha-Diaz and Joshua Miteer make their presentations on video.

When in-person programming was canceled due to the pandemic, ten 4Hers adapted to the moment and delivered formal 3-15 minute presentations on topics of their choice by video. Participants in kindergarten through high school were judged by volunteers.

The number one fear for many adults is public speaking, said Kelly Dziak, Morris County 4-H Program Associate. This event helps kids develop the skills and confidence they need to speak in front of an audience of any size. This year, participants also learned how to give their presentation while on camera and they did a fantastic job.
