Lake Hopatcong: Volunteers Needed for Sixth Annual Lake Event
Published on March 30, 2019
The Lake Hopatcong Foundation is putting out a call for volunteers to stage the sixth annual Lake Hopatcong Block Party, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Hopatcong State Park.

This an annual event brings visitors together with businesses, non-profit organizations, community groups, crafters, and food vendors for a day that kicks off the summer season and celebrates all facets of Lake Hopatcong life.
Organizers for the event, hosted by the Lake Hopatcong Foundation, are planning to accommodate 3,000 guests and 180 vendors for what has become one of the lake region's most ambitious community-building endeavors.
An estimated 200 volunteers will be assigned various tasks, including early-morning setup, late-afternoon cleanup and numerous other responsibilities to insure the day goes smoothly.
It would be impossible to pull off an event of this scale without a well-coordinated volunteer effort, said Judy Caruso, volunteer coordinator for the Block Party. There are so many things to do, up front and behind the scenes, that require the support of a lot of dedicated people.
We're so grateful for volunteers who contribute their time, skills and expertise to make the Block Party happen, said LHF President Jess Murphy.
