The New Jersey State Park Service will be refilling Lake Hopatcong beginning on Saturday, Dec. 15. You will notice some changes with outflow as a result and wanted to give you official notification prior to the start of the refill.

The refill follows the 60-inch drawdown, done every five years, that had lowered lake levels starting in September to allow for lake cleanups and dock, seawall and other repairs and maintenance.

Also, the Lake Hopatcong Foundation had urged lakefront owners to install new or replace worn B-Safe dock address numbers. The B-SAFE Dock Numbering Program was developed with the aim of improving emergency response times and safety on Lake Hopatcong.

For any questions regarding the refill process, please call 973-398-7010 or email Melissa.Castellon@dep.nj.gov
