Wegmans, the reigning champion, will face Bayer in a seven-inning contest for this year's winning trophy.

The Hanover Township business neighbors each will donate $5,000 to the Interfaith Food Pantry, (IFP). Proceeds from the sale of 50/50's, hot dogs, and beverages will go to the IFP.

The non-profit organization, which is located in Parsippany, works to feed financially struggling families throughout Morris County.

In addition to the game, kids will get a chance to learn the physics behind a baseball pitch by doing their own catapult launch at the Bayer, Making Science Make Sense booth.

Other kid-friendly aspects include photo ops with Wegmans' Ready for Prime Time Produce Players, who will distribute free fruit roll-ups; a chance to meet Sting the Bee, who is Hanover's warm and fuzzy mascot; fire trucks on display by the Cedar Knolls and Whippany Fire Departments; and the Whippanong Library's story time for younger kids and craft opportunity for pre-teens.

The event will end on a high note with a concert by The Shots with the Bergen County Firefighters Bagpipes.

The game will be held at Malapardis Park (for GPS: 191-225 Malapardis Rd, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927) from 1-3 p.m., with an Aug. 11 rain date. The concert starts at 4 p.m. Admission is free, but attendees are asked to help their Morris County neighbors in need by bringing a canned good or other non-perishable food item for the Interfaith Food Pantry
