STATE OF EMERGENCY ENDS -- REGULAR HOURS FOR STATE GOVERNMENT ON WEDNESDAY
(JPG, 12KB)Governor Christie: As you know, yesterday I declared a state of emergency so we could have the ability to take the necessary actions in responding to the storm, help emergency management officials at the local and county level and the road crews to do their jobs safely.
I want to thank all the people in New Jersey state government and in county and local government for the work that they're doing, whether it's responding to an emergency or clearing the roads. You're helping folks in the state get through the storm and getting your job done. I thank you very much.
The storm has really been a tale of three storms: south, central and north. We still expect the harshest conditions with a large snow accumulation in Northern New Jersey. At this point we're still expecting about 18 to 24 inches in the north, maybe a little bit less, 6 to 8 inches in the central, 3 to 5 inches south of I-95 and little to no accumulation in the far south along the Jersey Shore.
Governor Chris Christie announced that, effective 6 P.M. today, the state of emergency for New Jersey declared in Executive Order No. 221 no longer exists.
State offices will reopen at their regular time Wednesday morning and maintain normal operating hours.
Road conditions are available at the New Jersey Department of Transportation website at http://www.511nj.org/.
