Freeholders to Hold Annual Veterans Ceremony on Wednesday Evening

Public Invited as Freeholder Board Holds Medal ceremony and Salutes American Legion on its 100th Anniversary

The Morris County Freeholders on Wednesday evening will present Morris County Distinguished Military Service Medals to eight veterans from across the county, honoring these men and women as we approach Veterans' Day on Nov. 11, for their service to our country and their communities during and after their days in the military.(PNG, 35KB)

The event will be held in the Public Meeting Room at the Morris County Administration & Records Building, 10 Court Street in Morristown.

Receiving county medals will be:

  • Mohammed Abdul Aziz, U.S. Army, Rockaway Township;
  • Leonard Gleason, U.S. Army, Morristown.
  • Kim Hawkins U.S. Navy, Rockaway Township;
  • James Hill, U.S. Air Force, Jefferson Township;
  • Donna M. Scheel, U.S. Army, Mount Olive;
  • (the late) Steven H. Scheel, U.S. Army, Mount Olive;
  • Samuel Sisco, U.S. Army, Mine Hill;
  • Todd Stawicki, U.S. Army, Roxbury Township.

The Board of Freeholders also will honor the American Legion on its 100 anniversary and the U.S. Marine Corps on its 244th birthday.
