Freeholders, Sheriff, Prosecutor Join Clergy in a Community Rally Against Hate -- TODAY in Randolph

State Attorney General and Clergy from Many Faiths to Participate
Morris County residents are invited to a special Community Rally Against Hate'' today, Thursday, Jan. 9, at 5 p.m. in Randolph, with a goal of standing united against hatred and bigotry that recently has targeted the Jewish community and other faiths in our state and nation.

The event, to be held at the Gottesman RTW Academy at 146 Dover Chester Road in Randolph, is sponsored by the Morris County Board of Freeholders, in coordination with Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon and Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, and clergy from across the county.
We cannot tolerate the attacks that are being perpetrated against members of our community, in New Jersey, New York, and the entire nation, for their religious beliefs,'' said Freeholder Director Deborah Smith. We cannot say it more strongly: Not Here. Not Now. Not Ever.''
In the wake of recent attacks, the freeholders reached out to county law enforcement and religious leaders to explore a possible county response, and are asking members of faith-based communities across the county and the general public to join in standing up against hatred, violence and bigotry.

- Rabbi Levi Dubinsky of the Chabad Center of Mountain Lakes, Boonton, and Denville
- Basel Hamdeh of Jam-e-Masjid Islamic Center, Boonton
- Rev. Herman Scott of Calvary Baptist Church, Morristown
- Chandu Bhoraniya, devotee of B.A.P.S. Swaminarayan Mandir, Parsippany
- Freeholder John Krickus
- Rabbi Mendy Herson, Rabbinical College of America, Morristown
- Moshe Vaknon, Head of School, Gottesman RTW Academy
There also will be video presentations from Rep. Mikie Sherill and state Sen. Anthony Bucco.
Students from the Gottesman RTW Academy will offer songs during the event.
PARKING: There will be limited on-site parking at Gottesman Academy. Expected overflow parking will be handled at nearby County College of Morris in Parking Lot 9. Shuttle buses will take attendees on the very brief trip to the event from the college to the event.
The area will have clear signs and police officers to direct attendees.
