Freeholders Lament the Passing of Jim Rosenberg

STATEMENT BY THE MORRIS COUNTY BOARD OF FREEHOLDERS ON THE PASSING OF FORMER COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR JIM ROSENBERG

The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders offer their deepest sympathy to the family of former Morris County Administrator James Jim Rosenberg, who regrettably passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 after a brief illness.

Jim served with honor and distinction for 14 years as Morris County Administrator, from 1991-2005. He was highly regarded and well respected by his peers across the state and within the Morris County government community.

Colonel Rosenberg was an amazingly skilled and professional leader who guided and shepherded Morris County through many complex operational, social, educational, public safety, critical infrastructure and recreational challenges.

Jim transformed every obstacle into a solution. Morris County today is the premier county in our state because of Jim's constant dedication and commitment to excellence. He was simply an amazing man. Those of us who could call him our mentor and our friend were very fortunate.

Jim's tenure in Morris County began in 1974, working for 10 years as County Purchasing Agent, before leaving for a position with the New Jersey Department of Treasury, where he served for seven years, 1984-1991.

He then returned home to Morris County, where he helped run the county, to ensure our county remained the best place in New Jersey to live, work, go to school, and raise a family.

The Colonel was extremely proud of his military career, serving for 35 years in the U.S. Army and National Guard, from 1960 to 1995, and later as U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Division Commander from 2011 to his passing. He was a true American patriot.

The freeholders and the entire Morris County family regret the passing of our former colleague and offer our prayers and condolences to his family.
