The Morris County Board of Freeholders this week presented a county resolution of gratitude on behalf of all county residents to Morris County Library Director Susan Calantone, who is retiring at the end of the month.
Susan was honored Monday afternoon at the Board of Freeholders' meeting in Morristown, where she was joined by her family and library colleagues.

"We thank Sue for her efforts to make our library the best county library in New Jersey, and we wish her the best in retirement. Thank you,'' said Freeholder Director Doug Cabana, who presented her with the county resolution.
Calantone, who is a Hanover Township resident, began her library career in Morris County back in 1988 as a library assistant, and she was encouraged by the county library director at the time to consider a long-term career in the library business.
She subsequently obtained a Masters' Degree in Library Science and her career took off. During her career, she was the Library Director in Mendham Borough and Wharton, and then for 12 years in Roselle Park.
In 2016, she came back to Morris County, where her career started --- and fittingly as director. She has worked over these past several years to make the Morris County Library a vibrant and exciting place for the community. Congratulations to Sue!
