Informational tables will be set up in both town halls during those meetings, with consultants on hand to discuss the proposed project. Study team members also will make a formal presentation at the Jan. 9 session on Long Hill.

The purpose of these final Information Sessions is to inform the public about the conceptual plan for a Preliminary Preferred Alternative. The goal of the project is to address structural deficiencies of the bridge and increase safety for motorists.

The two-lane bridge on Valley Road (County Route 512) runs over the Passaic River, connecting Bernards Township in Somerset County and Long Hill in Morris County.

The two counties and their partners, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority and the New Jersey Department of Transportation, have been conducting a study to determine appropriate improvements to the Valley Road Bridge.
