Trees for Troops Donations to be Delivered to Military Families in Early December
Morris County residents and businesses may donate Christmas trees to military families for $30 through Trees for Troops, an annual program sponsored by Cerbo's Parsippany Greenhouses and Morris County Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Morris program.
In 2019, volunteers load trees into a truck.
Trees for Troops is now in its third year and expects to place 400-500 trees with families. In the first two years of the program, Cerbo's Parsippany Greenhouses placed more than 400 trees with military families. The trees being delivered for a $30 donation usually retail between $50 and $80, but because Cerbo's grows their own trees, they are able to keep the donation cost low.
Following the collection of donations, on Dec. 5 volunteers from the military and other local community groups will load trailers with fresh-cut Christmas trees bound for delivery to the recipient families.
A tree may be donated for $30 through Nov. 30, online or via mail. Donations can be made at the Morris County Chamber of Commerce's event calendar by clicking HERE, or can be mailed to the chamber at 325 Columbia Turnpike, Suite 101, Florham Park, NJ 07932. Make checks payable to Morris County Chamber of Commerce and write Trees for Troops in the memo section. Donations also may be dropped off at Cerbo's at 440 Littleton Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054.
This is the third year Cerbo's has been operating the tree donation program, according to Tyler Cerbo.
We thought it was a good way to engage the community, he said.

Meghan Hunscher, president of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, said the annual event was an ideal program for the members and graduates of Leadership Morris to support because it is so community-based and Leadership Morris focuses on not only mentoring business leaders but community leaders, as well.
Military families often are forced to operate on a tight budget, especially while loved ones are deployed, she said. This is an opportunity for Leadership Morris to show our support for these service men and women and their families during the holidays.
In addition, considering that Morris County is home to a military base €“ Picatinny Arsenal €“ this is one way we can express our gratitude to our active service men and women during the holidays.
Trees for troops is a 501(c)(3) organization.
