Bridge Projects Underway in Mountain Lakes and Washington Twp. Underway
A host of county road and bridge projects are being done across Morris County, with various phases of construction, milling and paving on Dover Chester Road and North Road in Randolph and Chester townships, the Boulevard in Pequannock, and Comly/Ryerson Roads in Lincoln Park and Pequannock.
An improvement project for East and West Dewey Ave in Wharton is also ready to start.
Bids are pending for resurfacing of a portion of North Passaic Avenue in Chatham Borough and Florham Park, and the bid process is pending for Dover-Rockaway Road in Rockaway Township and New Vernon Road in Long Hill.
In addition, repairs have begun on the Black River Road bridge in Washington Township and the Crane Road bridge in Mountain Lakes.
This is all part of a continuing emphasis on maintaining Morris County's road and bridge infrastructure, to ensure that we offer a first-class, high-quality transportation network for our residents and businesses,'' said Morris County Freeholder Stephen Shaw, the county governing board's liaison to road and bridge projects.
The road projects are part of Morris County's 2019 countywide resurfacing effort that has targeted some 30 miles of the county's vital road network for improvements this year.
Road closures and detours will be signed and coordinated with the local police. Hours of work also are coordinated with each municipality to best meet the needs of their residents.
Freeholder Shaw said the county is working closely with affected towns and their police departments on traffic flow, detours and work hours to ensure minimum disruption to local residents and businesses.
