Forum Addresses Challenges and Solutions for Recruiting and Employment
Join Morris-Sussex-Warren Workforce Development Board for the kick-off of National Disability Employment Awareness Month by attending the Disability & Inclusion Forum for HR Professionals hosted by Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. on Tuesday, October 8, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. It is co-sponsored by Employment Horizons, ENABLE, and DVRS.
The focus of the forum is to learn about the disability employment gap and discuss what can be done to close it. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently reported that 1 in 4 adults have a disability. As employers struggle with recruitment in a time of low unemployment, hiring people with disabilities has increased nationally.
The forum will feature a panel on the challenges and solutions regarding recruiting and employment, building talent pipelines for qualified job candidates, learning about workplace experiences of employers and employees, and the myths, misperceptions, and realities of hiring individuals with disabilities.
Moderating the panel will be Jeff Green, President of Pinnacle Graphic Communications, and feature Kathryn Forman, Associate of Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C.; Jaime Stein, CEC Lead, Unilever North America; Ken Schlager, Editor, New Jersey Monthly; and Julie Trien, Editor Assistant, New Jersey Monthly.
The program includes an Assistive Technology Demonstration by Cheryl Casciano from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
The event will be held at Porizio's 100 Southgate Parkway location and is free to attend. Breakfast will be catered by the Culinary Arts Training Program at Employment Horizons, Inc. Please RSVP here.
