Gov. Phil Murphy today announced that the state will allow the opening of municipal and private recreational pools across the state on Monday, June 22, two weeks from today.

The Governor, at his daily COVID-19 briefing, said specific guidelines related to allowing the opening of the pools will be release by tomorrow.

In addition, Gov. Murphy said pools at youth summer camps will be allowed for use when those camps are allowed to open on July 6. Guidance for the reopening of summer camps also will come out this week from the state Department of Health, he said.

He stressed that health precautions will be required at all pools to help prevent a resurgence of COVID-19 in New Jersey.

"We want to be sure that everyone can have a safe but memorable summer,'' said the Governor.
