The Morris County Vocational School District in partnership with County College of Morris has scheduled an information session for their Share Time Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing (EDAM) Program on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. It will be held at the County College of Morris campus in Randolph, at Sheffield Hall.
Interested sophomore students and their families are invited to learn about this two-year half day program, providing students the opportunity to earn 32 college credits from CCM and Certificates of Achievement in Mechanical Computer Aided Drafting and Engineering Technology.
To register for this information session visit: https://morriscountyvocational.eventbrite.com. Parking for participants will be available in lots 4, 5 or 6 on the CCM Campus.
EDAM is designed for students with an interest in engineering, computer applications and manufacturing who will learn through college-level work and hand-on activities. Students will utilize cutting edge technologies in a newly renovated state of the art facility at CCM, and will be prepared for careers in a growing industry.
Coursework includes basic engineering graphics, computer-aided drafting, materials for engineering technology, technical computer applications, mechanical prototyping, and electricity and electronics. The program will also include work-based learning experiences through industry partnerships.
Upon completion of the program students may enroll in CCM's Mechanical Engineering Technology program for one additional year to earn their associate's degree. They also have the option to continue on to a four-year college or university or pursue workforce placement.
Students in 10th grade may apply via online application at www.mcvts.org under Admissions>Application Form> Share Time Programs tabs. Priority will be given to all applications as they are received. Applicants who successfully meet the admissions criteria will be required to attend a Shadow Session for final consideration. The application will remain open for rolling admissions until all seats are filled. Once all seats are filled, applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
Share Time programs are half-day sessions providing juniors and seniors in high school the opportunity to receive daily career and technical training as part of their school program. For additional information, contact the Morris County Vocational School District at (973) 627-4600 ext.277.
