CCM Students Impress at State Radiography Competition

Taking First and Third Place in Tech Exhibit Competition

County College of Morris radiography students made quite an impression at the recent New Jersey Society of Radiologic Technologists (NJSRT) annual meeting in Atlantic City. During the student competition, technical exhibits created by CCM students placed first and third, while two students gained top placements in the X-Ray Bowl competition.

Placing first for their exhibit on How Fractures Are Repaired were Hayden Delle Donne, of Chester; Cory Moore, of Morristown; Ryan Buayaban, of Hopatcong; Ryan Rothschild, of Boonton; and Nish Naik, of Morris Plains.

Placing third for their exhibit Radiation Effects on the Human Body were Allison Scardena, of Denville; Corinne Przyborowski, of Boonton; Erica Pyper, of Sparta; Brian Berry, of Hopatcong; and Kaitlin Berger, of Madison.

Rothschild also was one of the final six students to finish in the X-ray Bowl, and Berger was one of the last 10 to finish in the X-ray Bowl. A total of 125 students started out in the X-ray Bowl competition. That competition is similar to Jeopardy in that students are asked questions about the field of radiography.

CCM students traditionally have excelled at the NJSRT annual meeting, attesting to the quality of the radiography program at the college.

Once again, I was very proud of all the CCM students who competed at the NJSRT annual meeting, says Denise Vill'Neuve, chair of the Allied Health Department at CCM and coordinator of the Radiography Program. Their accomplishments are a credit to their dedication, and speak well to the quality of the radiography program at CCM.

The radiography program at CCM is highly respected and its students are among the most successful. Last year, students from the Class of 2017 obtained a 100-percent pass rate on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist exam. That marked the third time in recent years that CCM graduates obtained a 100-percent pass rate. The Classes of 2014 and 2012 also had perfect pass rates.
