More than 1,400 Degrees and Certificates Earned

(JPG, 55KB)More than 1,400 students earned associates degrees and certificates from County College of Morris this spring, and about 600 will walk during the 10 a.m. commencement ceremony at the Mennen Sports Arena in Morris Township on Friday.

Tickets to attend the ceremony have already been distributed, but to see your favorite graduate accept a degree, watch the ceremony live on CCM's youtube channel.

Included among the Class of 2018 are three Morris County teenagers who decided to get a jump start on college and earn their associate degrees by taking part in the share-time Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing (EDAM) program at CCM, offered through Morris County School of Technology.

CCM offers more than 45 associate degree programs, along with a full slate of certificate and workforce development programs. The college holds more than 200 transfer agreements and its graduates annually transfer to the state's and nation's best four-year institutions.

Included among its distinctions, CCM is the only community college in New Jersey to be named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security.

Along with a strong STEM foundation, the college is known for the quality of its liberal arts, performing arts, health science, and culinary and hospitality programs.

In 2018, responding to labor force demands and the interests of students, the college launched programs in animation and virtual reality and expanded its cyber security offerings to high school students.

Looking ahead, the college plans to construct an Engineering and Manufacturing facility, establish a virtual hospital for its health science departments and expand program offerings in those areas. In addition, it plans to build upon its technology and cyber security offerings to provide more students with the opportunity to take advantage of these high job growth areas.
