This summer is a great time to indulge in your love for art at the County College of Morris Art and Design Gallery, which is hosting three exhibits featuring the work of local artists and students.

Two shows are running concurrently. The Art Association of Roxbury Exhibition, running now through June 29, highlights the work of local talent. A reception, free and open to the public, will be held Thursday, June 14, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The AAR's members, residing mostly in Morris and Sussex counties, include artists of all levels of experience, as well as art patrons. For more information on the AAR's programs, workshops and exhibits, visit www.artassociationinroxbury.org.

The exhibition represents the summation of all of a student's work from two years of creative studies at CCM. Students exhibiting this summer are from the college's Fine Arts and Design programs.

The New Jersey Art Association Exhibition will be held July 3 to August 23 in the CCM Art and Design Gallery A and B. A reception, free and open to the public, will be held Wednesday, July 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The New Jersey Art Association (originally called the Millburn-Short Hills Art Center) is one of the oldest art associations in the state. It was formed in 1940 as a not-for-profit organization to encourage art education and appreciation. In addition to mounting its own exhibitions and demonstrations, association members join together several times a year to show their work in venues such as the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn and the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts in Morristown, as well as libraries, hospitals, community centers and corporate offices.

The gallery is located in the Sherman H. Masten Learning Resource Center on CCM's Randolph campus, 214 Center Grove Road. The gallery's summer hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
