Hope One receives Federal Grant

Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon's groundbreaking Hope One program has been awarded a federal grant of over $332,000 by the Bureau of Justice. Hope One, which offers critical in-the-field support for persons struggling with addiction, has made over 5,000 contacts since its inception.

Today, Rep. Leonard Lance (17th District) stopped by Hope One on the Morristown Green to congratulate Sheriff Gannon for the program's accomplishment. County officials and Hope One's community partners were on hand to hear Sheriff Gannon, Rep. Lance, Assemblyman Anthony Bucco, Morris County Freeholder Tom Mastrangelo and Morris County Chiefs of Police President and Madison Police Chief, Darren Dachisen speak about the program and its successes.

Hope One was selected for the two (2) year competitive grant to plan, develop and implement comprehensive efforts to identify, respond to, treat, and support those impacted by the opioid epidemic. The Comprehensive Opioid Abuse program will help to roll out the Hope One's Police Assisted Recovery where officers are closest to the problem, said Sheriff Gannon.
