Law Enforcement Exploring offers students a “hands-on” program to gain exposure to the various criminal justice careers as well as have positive interaction with law enforcement professionals.

Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon invites all interested students to see what Police Exploring is all about.

Explorer Club Meetings - Students 10-13 Years Old

Join us on Monday nights from 6pm-8:30pm at the Public Safety Training Academy.

Each meeting will follow this schedule: 

  • 6pm-6:30pm: Physical Training
  • 6:30pm-7:00pm: Marching and Drill
  • 7:00pm-8:30pm: Meeting Topic and Scenarios.

Meeting Dates

  • July 26: Morris County 4H Fair 4pm-8pm at Highview Farms 416 Sand Shore Road, Mount Olive 
  • August 6: National Night Out in Mount Olive at Turkey Brook from 6pm-9pm; Explorers arrive in uniform
  • September 23: Recruitment Night at 6:30pm in the Auditorium (Explorers arrive in uniform at 6pm)
  • October 7: PT/Drill 
  • October 21: PT/Drill
  • November 4: PT/Drill
  • November 18: PT/Drill
  • December 2: PT/Drill
  • December 16: PT/Drill

Law Enforcement Exploring offers members access to varying dimensions of the Criminal Justice and Corrections vocations through experiential learning. Exploring also allows students to interact with the public while serving at Community Events.

Police Explorers train and learn in a paramilitary setting, under a post and rank structure, similar to those employed in law enforcement.
