Continuing Education Courses (CEUs)
The New Jersey Division of Fire Safety requires that as part of the recertification process the Fire Instructor must recertify every three years. As part of this process, Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) must be obtained within the three year cycle.
The CEU’s for recertification are listed below:
Fire Instructor Level 1................. 1.5 CEU's
Fire Instructor Level 2................. 1.5 CEU's
Drill Ground Instructor................. .25 CEU's
The Fire Division will be scheduling CEU courses during the 2020 year. The announcements will be faxed and e-mailed to all county departments to assist in your Fire Instructors in maintaining their certifications. The courses that will be scheduled have been approved for CEU’s by the Division of Fire Safety.
CEU Process for EMTs
The Academy will request CEU’s for Pre-Approved Courses through the NJ Department of Health.
Upon submission of course information, the DOH will issue an approval number which the Instructor will obtain from the Academy Administrative office.
Students are responsible to monitor their CEU status with the Department of Health.
