Firefighter 2 State Certification Challenge

The Academy will be conducting preparation and testing according to the State Division of Fire Safety's recently issues guidelines. Interested members should contact Senior Instructor Schultz at [email protected] to express your interest in testing. Please include your DFS ID number when emailing. Please remember, you only have one (1) opportunity to challenge this test; the Academy will be hosting four mandatory attendance sessions.

Eligiility (Per the DFS)

  • Individual must have the NJ Firefighter 1 state certification on file with the NJ DFS
  • Individual must have five years of experience before January 1, 2008 or have successfully taken Firefighter 2 course before 2008

Reminders

  • A member testing will receive only a State of New Jersey Division of Fire Safety Certification for Firefighter 2
  • Eligibility, as outlined above, ultimately will be determined by the State of New Jersey Division of Fire Safety. Verification of eligibility will be processed through the DFS prior to the start of the course. It is the applicant's incumbency to provide any necessary proof of eligibility for the Division of Fire Safety.
  • Accommodations for testing will be solely at the discretion of the Division of Fire Safety consistent with their codes and regulations.

Night One 11/06/2023: Review of Chapters 22-25 

Night Two 11/08/2023: Review of Chapters 26-28

Night Three 11/13/2023: Practice Test

Night Four 9/20/2023: Written Exam 

Response/Registration MUST be returned to Jim Schultz no later than October 20, 2023
