Firearms Instructor Development Course

The course is for In-Service and Police Training Commission certified firearms instructors. It has been designed to develop and reinforce instructor skills regarding the diagnosis and correction of shooting problems. This program is designed to update In-Service and PTC firearms instructors on a wide range of relevant topics which will include:

• Communicating with the student
• Review of proper stance, grip, sight alignment/sight picture, trigger pressure
• Correct use of cover
• Target analysis
• Shooting exercises and drills 

 

Required Equipment

• Range glasses
• Department Weapon
• Duty Holster
• Hearing protection
• 200 rounds of ammunition   
• Baseball style hat
