The course of study for Fire Official certification consists of a planned pattern of instruction and experiences. The course will provide at least thirty contact hours of instruction not including examination and support time. The course will also ensure, by examination, technical competence in the following areas: administration, supervision, budgeting, record keeping requirements, legal code enforcement, federal, state and local laws, and duties of the fire official, coordination with construction and fire sub code officials.
Note: Class will run on Monday and Wednesday nights
This course is approved for credit toward a certification issued by the Department of Community Affairs pursuant to the Uniform Fire Safety Act.
Class size: Minimum 10 students - Maximum 20 students
PRE-REQUISITE: Successful Completion of Fire Inspector - Documentation of successful completion must accompany registration if not conducted by our staff at Morris County Public Safety Training Academy.
BOOKS REQUIRED: A current New Jersey Uniform Fire Code manual and Jones & Bartlett Principles of Fire Prevention 4th Edition must be purchased prior to the start of class.– NOT SUPPLIED BY ACADEMY.
