Emergency Medical Dispatch

The Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) has been recognized as an essential component of effective EMS systems. Proper and timely training as well as a sound Medical Protocol are what help EMDs deliver quality care to the public with emergency medical needs. This course is the state mandated 32 hours Emergency Medical Dispatch Program. 

This program meets the following EMD national certification standards.

Prerequisites:

  • Able to read and write at a high school graduate or GED level.
  • Current certification through any state approved 911 Basic Communications training program
  • Current CPR Certification. 

Note:  Academy dress code is in effect for this course.
