Law enforcement received information that the defendant, Nicole McDonough, engaged in a sexual relationship with an 18 year-old student while she was employed as a teacher at West Morris Mendham High School. The acts in question allegedly occurred in May and June of 2014.   McDonough was arrested on December 30, 2014, following an investigation conducted by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit and the Mendham Borough Police Department. Prosecutor Knapp would like to thank the Mendham Borough Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Section and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit whose efforts contributed to this arrest.
A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until he or she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
