Wayne Man Charged with Theft and Drug Offenses

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Kinnelon Police Chief John Schwartz announce the arrest of Michael LaBorda IV, 25 years old of Wayne, New Jersey, on charges including several burglaries that were committed in the East Lake and Fayson Lakes section of Kinnelon.

On August 14, 2014 at 1:15 p.m. the Kinnelon Police Department, with the assistance of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, the Morris County Sheriff's Office, the Pequannock Police Department, the Wayne Police Department (Passaic County), the Bloomingdale Police Department (Passaic County), and the Oakland Police Department (Bergen County), arrested and charged LaBorda IV in connection with several burglaries that were committed in the East Lake and Fayson Lakes Section of Kinnelon over the past several weeks. The investigation was led by Sergeant Anthony Mauceri of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and Sergeant David Crouthamel of the Kinnelon Police Department.

The suspect is alleged to have gained entry to several homes through rear doors and windows of the burglarized homes. A majority of the property taken from the victims' homes were money and jewelry. The investigation resulted in Mr. LaBorda being charged with several counts of Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Receiving Stolen Property. In addition to these charges, Mr. LaBorda was also charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession Drug Paraphernalia, by the Wayne Police Department.

The Honorable Andrew M. Wubbenhorst, J.M.C. set bail at $75,000.00 with no 10 percent. The defendant was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility.

Prosecutor Knapp would like to thank the Morris County Sheriff's Office, the Kinnelon Police Department, the Pequannock Police Department, the Wayne Police Department, the Bloomingdale Police Department, the Oakland Police Department, and the members of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Intelligence Unit and High Tech Crimes Unit whose efforts contributed to this arrest.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until he or she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
