Victory Gardens Man Sentenced for Gun and Drug Offenses

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll and Chief of Detectives Robert McNally announce the sentencing of Kenneth Calvey Jr., 21, of the Borough of Victory Gardens, New Jersey.

On April 18, 2023, the defendant pled guilty to one count of Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense, a second degree crime, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4.1(a).

The charge came after an investigation by the Morris County Narcotics Task Force. As a result, a search warrant for defendant’s home was authorized, resulting in the seizure of $6,908, nearly one pound of raw marijuana, multiple THC vapes, drug distribution paraphernalia, a double barrel long gun, a handgun with a loaded magazine, and additional ammunition.

Defendant was sentenced on June 1, 2023, by the Honorable Stephen J. Taylor, P.J.Cr. to 5 years New Jersey State Prison with a 42-month period of parole ineligibility.  The State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Noelle Fiorentino.

Prosecutor Carroll would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance and commitment to the Narcotics Task Force: Dover Police Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Randolph Police Department and Roxbury Police Department. The Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 also assisted in the successful investigation.
